Kenneth A. Manning Elected Chair of PBA Board of Directors

BUFFALO, NY/FORT ERIE, ON – The Buffalo and Fort Erie Public Bridge Authority (PBA) today announced the election of Kenneth A. Manning as Chair of its Board of Directors and Tim Clutterbuck as Vice Chair.

Kenneth A. Manning was elected Chair of the PBA Board of Directors. He was first appointed to the New York State Governor in June 2016. Manning is a partner at Phillips Lytle, where he focuses on bet-the-company corporate and commerical litigation. He is highly recognized for his legal excellence by Upstae New York Super Lawyers®, The Best Lawyers in America® and Chambers USA - Band 1 Distinction - in Commerical Litigation.  Mr. Manning also serves on the Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center Board of Directors.

Tim Clutterbuck Elected Chair of PBA Board of Directors

BUFFALO, NY/FORT ERIE, ON – The Buffalo and Fort Erie Public Bridge Authority (PBA) today announced the election of Tim Clutterbuck as Chair of its board of directors and Kenneth A. Manning as Vice-Chair.

Tim Clutterbuck was elected Chair of the PBA Board of Directors. He was appointed to the Board by the Government of Canada in February 2017 and was recently reappointed to another four year term. Clutterbuck is the President of Valbruna ASW Steel Inc. in Welland, Ontario. He also serves as the Chairman of Welland Hydro Electric Holding Corporation and is Past Chairman of the Welland Hydro Electric System Corp.

2021 Border Traffic Statistics Issued by the Bridge and Tunnel Operators Association (BTOA)

BUFFALO, NY/FORT ERIE, ON – Today the Bridge and Tunnel Operators Association (BTOA) released border crossing numbers for the year 2021 between the Province of Ontario and the States of Michigan and New York.

For all of 2021, the border was closed to all but essential travel, or restricted by testing requirements, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  Commercial truck traffic was deemed essential.

In 2021, compared to 2020, overall car crossings decreased by 15.2%. Truck crossings increased by 7.6%. Combined there were 13,669,120 car, truck, and bus crossings, a decrease of 5.73% or 830,407 less vehicles.

Peace Bridge Authority Approves 2021 Budget and Establishes New Toll Rates to Encourage Cashless Toll Collection

 

BUFFALO, NY/FORT ERIE, ON –  Amid the Covid-19 pandemic, the Buffalo and Fort Erie Public Bridge Authority (PBA) today approved its 2021 budget and its final projected 2020 budget.

Since the border was closed to all but essential travel on March 21, 2020 car volumes have been reduced by 94% and truck traffic by 13%. The Canadian Duty Free store has been closed while the U.S. Duty Free has been operating at reduced hours.

No Tolls on Christmas Day at the Peace Bridge

BUFFALO, NY/FORT ERIE, ON – The Buffalo and Fort Erie Public Bridge Authority (Peace Bridge Authority) is pleased to announce that it will not charge tolls on Saturday, December 25, 2021, in celebration of the Christmas holiday. The toll-free period will be in effect for 24 hours beginning at 12 AM Christmas morning (Saturday).
