Constructed in 1927 to Recognize Over 100 Years of Peace

For over 80 years the Peace Bridge has stood as a symbol of peace, prosperity, and partnership between the world's two greatest democracies.  Originally conceived to link the Buffalo Niagara region and its peoples, the bridge was celebrated as a physical monument to 100 years of peace between Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States, dating back to the War of 1812.

Since its construction, the Peace Bridge has efficiently linked Canada and the United States and consistently ranked as a premier international border crossing between the two countries.  Few if any crossings can truly lay claim to the same history, architecture, and breathtaking scenery that graces the Peace Bridge corridor.
