BUFFALO,   NY/FORT ERIE, ON – The Buffalo and Fort Erie Public Bridge Authority  (PBA) today opened its new $10 million approach that widens the entry  into the U.S. plaza.

“The project is designed to make it easier for NEXUS participants to access their lane” said Anthony Annunziata, Authority Vice-Chairman. “It also better separates car and truck traffic entering the U.S. plaza.”

Sam Hoyt, Chairman of the Authority added, “This is one of several projects in and around the U.S. plaza that will improve the functionality and efficiency of the Peace Bridge crossing. The Authority’s Customs commercial building is scheduled for completion in January 2016 and the State of New York’s Gateway project is anticipated to be completed in spring 2017.”

The Buffalo and Fort Erie Public Bridge Authority, a binational bridge authority, has owned and operated the Peace Bridge since 1933. The bridge, which was opened to traffic in 1927, spans the Niagara River between Fort Erie, Ontario, and Buffalo, New York, and is a key international border crossing.
