Manning Elected Vice Chair of PBA Board of Directors;  Meredith Appointed



BUFFALO, NY/FORT ERIE, ON – The Buffalo and Fort Erie Public Bridge Authority (PBA) today announced the election of Kenneth A. Manning as Vice Chair of its board of directors and appointment of Patrick Meredith to the board of directors.

Kenneth A. Manning was elected Vice Chair of the PBA board of directors. Manning was first appointed to the PBA board of directors by Governor Andrew Cuomo in June 2016. Manning is a partner at Phillips Lytle LLP, where he has experience in corporate and commercial litigation. He also concentrates his practice in the area of education law and leads Phillips Lytle’s Education Practice Team. He is the past recipient of the University at Buffalo School of Law’s distinguished alumni award and various other pro bono community service awards from the New York State Bar Association. He has been ranked a “Top-50 Upstate New York Super Lawyer” and also serves on the Roswell Park Cancer Institute board of directors, the University at Buffalo School of Law Dean’s Advisory Council, and the Daemen College Community Advisory Board.

Patrick Meredith was appointed to the PBA board of directors as deputy by Paul Karas Acting Commissioner of the New York State Department of Transportation. In January 2016, Meredith was appointed as Assistant Commissioner for Regional Operations for the Department of Transportation, Western New York. Meredith has nearly two decades of experience in the public sector, overseeing the management and construction of capital improvement projects including roads, parks, storm water and sewer systems. Meredith previously served as commissioner of public works for the Town of Irondequoit, and before that, as deputy commissioner for the Town of Irondequoit. Previously, he owned his own construction company and served as assistant engineer for the Town of Penfield. Meredith holds an A.O.S. from Alfred State College, State University of New York.

The PBA is governed by a ten-member board, consisting of five members from New York State and five members from Canada. Manning and Meredith both represent New York State.

The Buffalo and Fort Erie Public Bridge Authority, a binational bridge authority, has owned and operated the Peace Bridge since 1933. The bridge, which was opened to traffic in 1927, spans the Niagara River between Fort Erie, Ontario, and Buffalo, New York, and is a key international border crossing.
